Here is my 72 LT1 convertible It has been a long process to get to this point and I am still working on it. The car started out to be restored back to original which I did for my father. He retired and could not take the car to Florida with him. I bought it from him and started to modify the car. I did not want to cut up or do anything that I could not put back to original.

I have a replacement LT1 block in the car which I have taken out and had balanced. I replaced the cam with a Comp Cams 294S which has more lift and duration than the original. I replaced the heads with AFR 190 heads and put on headers with a good 2 1/2 exhaust with 50 series Flowmasters. It has a M20 Muncie with 3.70 gears so it is a little tough on the highway but great around town.

I take it to the drags a couple of times a year. My best so far is 12.74 at 110 on street tires. The car is a blast to drive and I'm just having fun with it now. I have been to a couple of car shows with it but I would rather race it than sit and look at it.
